Special Services
Special Education Department
MISSION
The Department of Special Services at Edison High School provides an integrated curriculum that will challenge students to be involved in the learning process at the level most appropriate for them. A variety of methods and levels of support are used to develop the abilities of each learner. The IEP team determines the appropriate level of intervention required to meet the student’s need and ability. The appropriate level of intervention is the level at which the student performs successfully in the least restrictive environment.
TEAM
The IEP Team at EHS consists of four professionals: one Learning Disabilities Specialist, two Psychologists, and one Social Worker. The team is based at EHS. In addition to providing case management, the case managers provide counseling, social skills, conflict resolution, assistance with college selection, and help with transition to adult life. The overall goal is self-advocacy.
