About
With over two decades of dedicated service in education, Mr. Matthew Zapoticzny has established himself as a pillar of Edison Public Schools. His journey began at John Adams Middle School, where he taught 7th and 8th grade science and coached the girls' soccer team for two years.
Mr. Zapoticzny then joined Edison High School, bringing his passion for science to a new generation of students. Over his 19-year tenure at the high school, he taught a range of subjects, including biology, environmental science, chemistry, and physics. His impact extended beyond the classroom as he played key roles in the school's athletic programs, serving as Assistant Coach for boys' soccer and Head Coach for girls' lacrosse.
In addition to his teaching and coaching responsibilities, Mr. Zapoticzny has demonstrated exceptional leadership. He has held various significant positions, such as Learning Leader for two years, Summer School Supervisor for one year, and SAT Coordinator for five years.
A proud graduate of Rutgers University, Mr. Zapoticzny earned his Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and History from Rutgers College. He furthered his education with a Master's in Science Education from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education and achieved his Principal Certification through Caldwell University.
Mr. Zapoticzny’s diverse experience and extensive educational credentials equip him to support both the academic and extracurricular growth of Edison's students. His commitment to education and his community continues to inspire and empower those around him.
