Important updates regarding the procedures for obtaining working papers for students in New Jersey are outline below. The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development has implemented new guidelines for obtaining working papers.  The process for applying for working papers will be conducted online beginning June 1st.

Here are a few key points you need to know about the new procedures:

Online Application: Minors and their employers will need to visit the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development website at  MyWorkingPapers.nj.gov  and follow the instructions to complete the application.

Required Documentation: Certain documents will be necessary to complete the online application. These may include proof of age, such as a birth certificate or passport, and proof of residency. Please ensure you have these documents ready before starting the application process.

Verification and Approval: Applications submitted online will be reviewed and you will receive updates via email regarding the status of the application. Processing time for working papers may vary based on the volume of applications received.
